Enterprise Build Service Engineer

Your tasks:

  • Productising the Open Build Service technology
  • Software packaging and managing of repositories
  • Handling user feedback and putting it into practice
  • Supporting external Build Service users and developers
  • Development of Ruby on Rails applications (frontend and backend)
  • Involvement in design, implementation, testing, bug fixing and optimizing in all areas of the Open Build Service

SUSEs requirements:

  • Master's degree in Computer Sciences or a comparable degree
  • Open source development experience
  • At least 3 years experience in professional software development and agile methodologies
  • Experience required in ruby, python, perl; ruby on rails is a plus
  • Knowledge in software packaging, image building, and deploying
  • Test-driven development, DevOps working style and experience is a plus
  • Virtualization knowledge (KVM/XEN) and/or Cloud experience (EC2, Openstack, Azure) a plus
  • Familiarity with version control systems (git), databases (SQL)
  • Team player
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Autonomous and results oriented work style
  • User and customer focus
  • Addiction to applying your skills to challenging problems
