Content Moderation Becomes Stronger
Today we are presenting three new features that make content moderation more powerful.
Content Moderation is part of the beta program.
Our journey into content moderation began back in October 2023, initially addressing comment locks and report categories. Since then, we’ve expanded this feature to include canned responses and moderator decisions, facilitating smoother request reporting and the reporting of users from comments. Following that, we’ve honed in on optimizing canned responses and introducing various UI upgrades, then with improving the communication and decision making, improved the report notifications for moderators, and with improving canned responses UI and report overview.
Appeals on the Report View
Previously you knew the decision about a report, but didn’t know its final resolution. You had to navigate away from the page to find out what happened to it. Now that the appeals show up in the report page, you know what happened to that report from start to finish.
Allow Making More Than One Report Against a Reportable
The one report per person limit is now gone. If the situation changed since you reported something, you can write another report that reflects that new situation. That will give moderators an updated picture.
Moderators Can Now Delete Offending Projects or Packages Directly
When content in projects or packages violates our policy but the content owner still won’t act, moderators can now directly delete that project or package as part of the decision. And this will be final, as there is no appeal.
Are you a moderator? Try them out and tell us what you think!
